SB19 gears up for a new era with PAGTATAG EP, world tour, and cinematic trailer!
Filipino boyband SB19 is all set to drop their upcoming EP, PAGTATAG, on June 9, 2023. The group also announced that its carrier single will be released in May of the same year.
The news came with a trailer that follows the growth of a plant, symbolizing the group's journey. The video also hints at their upcoming EP, which is part of the Ikalawang Yugto trilogy, following their Pagsibol EP and two more releases to come.
The six-track EP is expected to showcase the group's versatility, as they experiment with different genres and music styles. Xi-Anne Avanceña, and SB19 members Pablo, and Justin took on the role of creative directors for the cinematic trailer. It's set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans try to save the last plant that can save their world. The group explained that "the only answer to the plant's propagation is their own blood."
SB19 worked with acclaimed actor Pepe Herrera in the trailer for PAGTATAG. The group was all praise for the collaboration, describing Herrera as a professional and a joy to work with.
Shortly after the trailer's release, the hashtag #SB19PAGTATAG trended at No. 1 worldwide on Twitter. "The Kings" and "PPOP KINGS" also occupied Twitter's trending list in various countries outside the Philippines.
Apart from the EP and trailer, the group announced the schedule for their upcoming world tour, which will kick off on June 24-25, 2023, at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila. The tour will include stops in several cities in the Philippines, United States, Canada, and more. Additional dates, countries, and cities will be announced soon.
